So when a hinge tears out or a weld cracks, matching a “DoorKing part number” is not the task. The task is measuring the gate leaf weight, the hinge spacing, and the post condition, then fabricating to those numbers. That is what we do in our Alhambra shop. • The gate frame flexes visibly when the operator pushes or pulls. That flex means the internal bracing has broken free or was never adequate. The operator motor is working harder than it should, and the limit switches will start tripping or burning out.
