Which Ghost Controls Models This Applies To

Ghost Controls has kept their accessory wiring fairly consistent across their swing and slide gate opener lines, but there is one compatibility gotcha that catches a lot of Alhambra owners: the older AX series and the newer R series use different receiver frequencies, so a keypad or remote from an AXDP system will not talk to an R-series board without an external receiver kit. Before you order anything, check the label on the underside of your control board. If it starts with AX, you have the older 318 MHz system. If it says R or has a date code after 2019, it is the newer rolling-code system. • Keypad accepts the code only sometimes. The tactile membrane wears out from heat and sun exposure. Alhambra summers push 100 degrees, and after four or five years, the contacts under the buttons develop dead spots. You press “4” and nothing registers. The fix is a new keypad, not a new opener.
